San Telmo, où les souvenir vivent Club Social Argentino de Montreal

San Telmo is one of the oldest and most traditional neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Old houses, traditional cafés, cozy restaurants, and the tango culture constitute the backdrop of this neighborhood rich in culture and popular poetry.

Sunday is a festive day, is the day of the Feria de San Telmo. It is the meeting place for local inhabitants, Porteños from other neighborhoods, and tourists. Through its cobblestone streets it is possible to see antique shops, peddlers, street musicians and dancers, jugglers, and artisans of all sorts. What a life force one feels walking its streets wrapped in the emotion of a Tango, the charm of an Argentinean waltz, or the spell-binding rhythm of a Candombe. One has the feeling of being in a parallel universe.

On its streets, market and Feria are populated by a symphony of captivating characters, both for their physical traits and colorful personalities. The series of photographs is an homage to these special people who are the soul of San Telmo.
